Do you remember your first trip to Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park?
We are so grateful that our tiny nature center in the woods has provided so many memories, and we are so excited to see the memories being made at our new facility! 🦉Today was a true full-circle moment at Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center. 🌿
Mark Moore visited the park with his family, bringing along his grandson for his very first experience here—but for Mark, this place holds a much deeper history. His very first visit was back in 1976 as a first grader from Timmons Elementary.
When asked what he remembered most, Mark shared that his most vivid memory was walking through the woods and looking up at the trees—how tall, majestic, and awe-inspiring they felt to him as a child.
Today, nearly 50 years later, he walked those same trails again… this time beside his grandson.
And just like Mark all those years ago, his grandson looked up at those same towering trees with wonder and amazement. 🌲
Moments like this remind us why places like Walter B. Jacobs are so important. They aren’t just parks—they are memory-makers, where generations connect with nature and with each other.
Who else remembers their first visit? 💚 ... See MoreSee Less
