Veterans and active military members saluting during recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance would be appropriate, should you wish to do so. All others, please recite with your hands over your hearts, and we ask that everyone please remember our POW-MIA’s as we say the Pledge of Allegiance.
Citizens who wish to address the Committee may appear in person, and either fill out a comment card or request to speak when the chair asks if there are additional public comments. Individual comments are limited to 3 minutes
6.1 Discuss and make recommendations regarding a resolution urging and requesting the American Vet Association, Louisiana Veterinary Association and other industry controllers to explore and implement innovative solutions to the address the shortage of veterinarians working in shelter medicine, public health, spay/neuter, registered vet techs, vet techs and other support fields related to Animal Services in the public sector.
6.2 Discuss Public Awareness, community education and awareness of laws related to animals and responsible pet ownership and identify low cost, high impact means of improving public awareness and compliance with these laws.
