BLANCHARD LATEX ROAD BRIDGE TO REOPEN; WORK ON SECOND BRIDGE BEGINS

Beginning October 10, the Blanchard Latex Road bridge previously closed to construction in North Caddo will reopen to traffic.

On October 12, the second bridge located on Blanchard Latex Road will close to allow the Caddo Parish Department of Public Works to begin bridge replacement work.

The Public Works Department will be replacing the bridge and conducting associated road improvements to expand commercial use of the bridge. These improvements will ensure decades of durability, safety and access for motorists that utilize these bridges.

Motorists are asked to use the same detour route: Highway 169 to Blanchard Furrh Rd to W. Daugherty Rd.  Construction is expected to be completed within 60-90 days.

Citizens are encouraged to sign up for the Everbridge notification service, which provides updates on parish road conditions and closures via phone, email and text. To sign up, visit caddo.org and click on ‘Everbridge Notifications’.
