CADDO PARISH CONTINUES WINTER WEATHER PREPARATION

CADDO PARISH, LA—As the threat of winter weather nears, the Parish of Caddo continues winter preparation operations.

Highway and bridge preparations continue, and parish public works crews continue to mobilize to respond to pre and post event issues.

Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control is actively seeking emergency fosters to help reduce volume and increase capacity of the facility during the weather event.  All animals are up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Interested fosters may visit Caddo Parish Animal Services, (1501 Monty Street, Shreveport, LA) Friday from 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Walter B. Jacobs Nature Center will be closed Saturday, January 24 – Monday, January 26, reopening Tuesday, January 27, weather permitting. All previously scheduled events will be rescheduled.

All other Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation sites will remain open; however, all park restrooms will be closed and water service unavailable beginning Friday, January 23, 2026. Portable outdoor toilets will be placed at the following park locations:

o          Earl G. Williamson (11425 Hwy. 1-Oil City, LA)

o          Eddie D. Jones (8400 Mike Clark Rd.-Keithville, LA)

o          Keithville Community Park (12201 Mansfield Rd.-Shreveport, LA)

o          Noah Tyson (9305 Mira Myrtis Rd.-Rodessa, LA)

o          PBS Pinchback ((7903 Jefferson Paige Rd.-Shreveport, LA)

o          Richard Fleming (7919 West Lakeshore Rd.-Shreveport, LA)

o          Robert L. Nance (14770 Odom Rd.-Hosston, LA)

Please respect all closure notices until a full assessment is completed and park amenities are re-opened for public use, and proceed with using park sites safely and at your own risk.
