If you’re installing a culvert in a Parish-maintained right-of-way, submit an online request form to the Parish Permits Office. This helps ensure culverts are properly sized to allow steady water flow and reduce flooding risk.
An online application alone does not approve work. You must possess a valid permit issued by the Department of Public Works before beginning any work in the Parish right-of-way.
Fees
The cost for a culvert installation and inspection permit is $25.00. If you have recently obtained a 911 address permit, there is no additional fee for a culvert permit, as it is covered by the 911 address permit.
Recommendations
The Caddo Parish Public Works Department approves culverts for placement in Parish-maintained right-of-ways. The Parish recommends concrete culverts, but you may also use a corrugated metal culvert. The Parish recommends avoiding plastic culverts due to their limited durability.
