If you are installing a culvert in a Parish-maintained right-of-way, you must submit an online request for a culvert installation (see the form below) to the Parish Permits Office. This ensures that culverts installed on Parish maintained roads are the correct size to allow water to flow steadily, reducing the risk of flooding.
An online application does not approve work. A valid permit issued by the Department of Public Works must be in hand before starting any work in the Parish right-of-way.
Fees
The fee for a culvert installation and inspection permit is $10.00. If you have recently obtained a 911 address permit, there is no additional charge for a culvert permit, as it is included in the 911 address permit.
Recommendations
The Caddo Parish Public Works Department approves the culverts that can be placed in Parish-maintained right-of-ways. The Parish recommends concrete culverts, but you can also use a metal corrugated culvert. We do not recommend plastic culverts because of their limited durability.
