Where will CPPP be located?
Approximately at the 200 Block of East Flournoy Lucas Rd. | Shreveport, LA 71106

What Will The Facility Include and What Will It Cost?
- Total cost: $10 million ·Nineteen lit pickleball courts (USA Pickleball regulation standards/post tension concrete), eight with shade structures.
- Additional championship style court will include seating for 1,000 people.
- Clubhouse (approximately 6,000 sq. ft with seating for up to 50 people on each side with (2) pickleball courts (1 on each side).
- Limited seating will be provided at the other courts, as well as basic picnic areas with two (2) pavilion spaces, 500 parking spaces and a walking/jogging trail. (approximately ¼ mile per one lap).
When Will The Facility Be Completed?
- 2025 – Lease Agreement/Design Development
- 2026 – Construction Begins
- 2027 – Completion/Grand Opening
Who Will Pay for CPPP?
- CPPP will be funded by revenue bonds from the Parish of Caddo.
- The funds would not come from any current fund balance if passed and revenues generated would pay the bonds.
Who Will Manage CPPP?
CPPP will be managed by the Lash Family YMCA, a facility experienced in operating recreational facilities and connecting communities throughout the United States.
What Do We Know About Pickleball?
- Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America, with an estimated 48.3 million players in the United States and a 223.5% growth in the last 3 years.
- 13,969 pickleball courts in the United States
- Players 25-34 make up the largest percentage of pickleball players-dispelling the myth that pickleball is primarily a game for older players.
- The shortage of dedicated courts remains a concern to pickleball players around the country
- According to the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, the pickleball industry needs $855 million to fund 24,500 new courts over the next 5-7 years. The investment is essential to prevent bottlenecks in the sport’s growth, especially in regions where player demand for exceeds court availability.
How Will CPPP Benefit Caddo Parish?
- Addresses the parish-wide need for more dedicated pickleball courts;
- Supports sports tourism as an economic driver for Caddo Parish (hosting local, state and regional pickleball tournaments);
- Brings people and communities together. Youth, adults and senior populations can all participate at the same time; and
- Improves the overall quality of life of all Caddo Parish citizens.
Next Steps
A public hearing and final vote by the Caddo Parish Commission to appropriate 10,000,000 for the Caddo Parish Pickleball Park will take place on Thursday, July 3rd at 3:30 P.M. at the Caddo Parish Regular Session. - Regional 3 day pickleball tournaments with 1000 players can generate over $1.2 million dollars in direct spending, including meals, entertainment and lodging.
