CADDO PARISH REMOVES NEARLY THREE TONS OF LITTER FROM PARISH ROADWAYS DURING “LOVE THE BOOT WEEK”

CADDO PARISH, LA – Nearly three tons of trash and litter were collected from Parish roadways this week as a part of the Parish of Caddo’s participation in the statewide “Love The Boot” week campaign.

Dozens of employees from the Parish’s ten departments participated in daily trash and litter pickups on the following Parish roadways:

  • Wallace Lake Road

  • Mayo Road

  • Blanchard Latex Road

  • North Lake Shore

  • Bostwick Road

  • Keithville Keatchie Road

  • Linwood/ Barron Road

  • Bellows Road

  • State Line Road

In total, over 4,540 pounds of trash and 236 bags of litter were collected. Over 1,000 of these pounds included coolers, tires, and other large items.

“Combating litter and keeping our Parish clean remains a top priority,” said Parish Administrator/CEO Erica R. Bryant.  “We were delighted to join forces with our state partners and come together for a collective focus on litter abatement, but we also know that we must fight litter each and everyday.  We encourage our citizens to be “Caddo Proud”, and to help us keep Caddo Parish clean,” said Bryant.

In May, Keep Louisiana Beautiful will release an outcomes report summarizing the collective impact of the registered cleanup and beautification events. This report will include the total number of events, volunteers, bags of trash collected, pounds of trash collected, and other relevant statistics. The report will be available at www.keeplouisianabeautiful.org.
