PARISH OF CADDO RECEIVES ADDITIONAL REVENUE THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH CAPITAL AREA FINANCE AUTHORITY
Caddo Parish, LA – The Parish of Caddo received additional revenue as a result of a program partnership with the Capital Area Finance Authority (CAFA). CAFA presented a check representing $130,000 in program revenue at the Caddo Parish Commission’s regular session meeting on Thursday, April 7.
Over 425 families in Caddo Parish have benefited from the Capital Area Finance Authority (CAFA) Home Buyers Program, resulting in $22,244 in revenue given back to the Parish so far in 2022 and $130,000 since the program’s inception.
“The Caddo Commission is pleased to a partner with CAFA in making the dream of homeownership more accessible to citizens in Caddo Parish,” said District 7 Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts. “Home ownership builds wealth and expands opportunity and quality of life, opportunities that we want as many residents in Caddo Parish to have access to if they desire,” said Gage-Watts.
The Caddo Commission voted to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with CAFA in 2019. Through the program, potential home buyers can utilize funds to assist with their down payment and closing costs. The fees that CAFA receives is split with the Parish.
“Home ownership helps strengthen communities and we are excited to come into Caddo and market to the lenders and Realtors through First Time Home Buyers events as well as community outreach,” said CAFA Business Development Director Kristin Delahoussaye.
CAFA partners with approved mortgage lenders across Caddo Parish who work with potential borrowers to finance homes. For a listing of lenders in Caddo Parish and more information on the CAFA Program, visit the Parish’s website at www.caddo.org, or the CAFA website at www.thecafa.org .
