October 9, 2024 CADDO PARISH PARKS AND RECREATION AND STROMILE SWIFT JOIN FORCES TO HOST FREE BASKETBALL CAMPS FOR CADDO PARISH YOUTH CADDO PARISH, LA – Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation and former NBA/LSU player Stromile Swift are hosting a diverse slate of basketball camps for area Caddo Parish middle school girls and boys, covering basic fundamentals of basketball in a safe and fun environment. Swift will serve as guest instructor for the camps. Each camp is free, but slots are limited and registration is required. To register online, visitcaddoparks.org, or contact Caddo Parks at “We know that providing recreational and athletic opportunities such as these educate our young people, but also allows them to learn life skills and stay occupied, which helps deter crime,” said Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation Director Patrick Wesley. “We are thankful to Stromile Swift for lending his time and talent to the children of Caddo Parish,” said Wesley. Upcoming Camps: Swift Skills Basketball Camp (Guard Position Camp) This camp is for middle school youth (girls and boys), 6th – 8thgrade; specifically designed for point guards and shooting guards looking to develop their dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills while increasing their basketball IQ. Registration deadline is October 11th or until all camp slots are filled. – Swift Skills Basketball Camp (Big Man Camp aka Bigs) Saturday, November 9th, 9:00am – 12noon (Huntington High School, 6801 Rasberry Ln) This camp is for middle school youth (girls and boys), 6th – 8th grade; specifically designed for forwards and centers looking to develop their dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defensive skills while increasing their basketball IQ. Registration deadline is November 5th or until all camp slots are filled. – Swift Skills Basketball Camp (Big Man Camp aka Bigs) Saturday, December 21st, 9:00am –12noon (Huntington High School, 6801 Rasberry Ln) This camp is for middle school youth (girls and boys), 6th – 8th grade; specifically designed for forwards and centers looking to develop their dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding and defensive skills while increasing their basketball IQ.
