Caddo Parish Parks & Recreation to host 3rd Annual Jr. NBA Skills Challenge in memory of Devin Myers

CADDO PARISH, LA – Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, in conjunction with Raising Canes will host the 3rd Annual Jr. NBA Skills Challenge for youth girls and boys on Saturday, April 5th from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. The event is aimed for ages 7 – 13, will be held at the Huntington High School Gymnasium, 6801 Raspberry Ln, Shreveport, LA.

This annual event honors the late Huntington High School basketball star Devin Myers, who was fatally shot March 3rd, 2022 due to senseless gun violence.

Clinic attendees will have an opportunity to showcase their basketball skills through five fundamental basketball drills (shooting, lay-ups, dribbling, passing and defense). In addition,  local law enforcement and mental health representatives will be onsite to discuss with youth the impact of gun violence in their respective communities.
