Caddo Parish to Celebrate National County/Parish Government Month
CADDO PARISH, LA — The Parish of Caddo will celebrate National County/Parish Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to showcase how the Parish supports residents and builds healthy, safe and vibrant communities.
“The Parish of Caddo is proud of the programs and services we provide to our residents,” said Parish Administrator and CEO Erica Bryant. “This National County/Parish Government Month, we are focusing on educating our citizens more than ever on the services and resources that the Parish provides in the hopes of strengthening the connection between our parish government and the local community,” said Bryant.
The Parish celebrates NCGM this year with events across the Parish:
· Spring 2026 Parks and Recreation Activities: Caddo Parks and Recreation boasts a full slate of community recreational activities during April. For a full slate of activities, visit caddoparks.org .
· April 18, 8am-1pm, Summer Grove Baptist Church: Annual FREE Rabies and Microchip Clinic; open to citizens of Caddo Parish to receive free 1 year rabies vaccines and microchips for their dogs, cats and ferrets.
· April 20-24, parish wide: Caddo Parish staff will be participating in a weeklong parish wide cleanup of Parish maintained roadways as a part of “Love The Boot Week”.
· April 23, 3:30pm, Government Plaza: Annual “Commissioner for a Day”; Caddo high school students will have the opportunity to learn about Parish government and become a “Commissioner” for the day, touring Parish facilities and participating the regular session meeting of the Caddo Parish Commission.
Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged parishes and counties across the country to raise public awareness about county and parish roles, responsibilities and services during the month of April. NCGM is an opportunity to celebrate the vital role that county governments play in improving the everyday lives of residents.
