CADDO PARISH CELEBRATES NATIONAL COUNTY/PARISH GOVERNMENT MONTH

Caddo Parish, LA — The Parish of Caddo will celebrate National County/Parish Government Month (NCGM) during the month of April to showcase how Caddo Parish achieves healthy, safe and vibrant communities.

The theme for this year’s celebration of NCGM is “ForwardTogether”.  ForwardTogether is about connecting, inspiring and leading – pillars of county government that build trust and drive towards solutions.

“The Parish of Caddo is proud of the programs and services we provide to our residents,” said Parish Administrator and CEO Erica R. Bryant. “Our efforts combined with efforts of parishes across the country are helping American communities respond to the many needs of our citizens,” said Bryant.

Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACo) has encouraged counties and parishes across the country to raise public awareness and understanding about the roles and responsibilities of counties/parishes.

During the month of April, the Parish invites citizens to stay connected and learn more about the functions of Parish government and the services it provides.  On April 4, the Caddo Parish Commission will host area high school students as “Commissioners for a Day”. The students will be taken on a tour of the Caddo Parish Courthouse and Government Chambers at Government Plaza. After the tour, students will sit with Commission members as they hold their Regular Session meeting.

The Parish maintains an active presence on social media and encourages individuals to follow the official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/parishofcaddo) for updates and public information.  Additionally, the Parish hosts a monthly webisode called “Pulse of the Parish”, which airs every first Friday of the month at 12:00 noon on the Parish’s website caddo.gov, and is available on Comcast Channel 6 (Love Shreveport). The webisode features segments on Parish departments and services and upcoming events in Caddo Parish.

Citizens are also encouraged to stay informed by attending Caddo Parish Commission meetings, or viewing them live stream via the Parish’s website (caddo.org), or at the Parish’s Facebook page.
