CADDO ANIMAL SERVICES IN CRITICAL NEED OF
NEWSPAPER DONATIONS

Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control is in critical need of newspaper for shelter operations.

The shelter’s kennels are lined each day with fresh newspaper, with some cages requiring entire sections of newspaper.

The shelter has seen a sizeable jump this summer in the number of dog and cat intakes.

“Capacity remains an immediate concern, and we currently have over 400 dogs and cats currently being housed in our facility,” said Caddo Parish Animal Services and Mosquito Control director Travis Clark. “We take in animals daily, and that number continues to grow,” said Clark.

Citizens and businesses who are interested in donating newspapers may drop off donations at Caddo Parish Animal Services, located at 1500 Monty Street, Shreveport, LA during shelter hours (10am-5pm M-F; 11am-2pm Saturday).

The public is also reminded that Animal Services has a large number of cats and dogs available for adoption and/or foster. Adoptable animals are available for viewing on the Parish’s website at caddo.gov or in person at the shelter.
